With the new season drawing nearer every day here is a prediction as to how the league will
finish. Each team is followed by a note as to way they might finish in this position.

  1. Manchester City: marginally ahead of Liverpool as they were last season. Their squad is almost stronger with the acquisition of Rodri from Atletico Madrid. It’s hard to see this incredible team not making it three in a row.
  2. Liverpool: on Manchester City’s coat tails after coming up short last season. There is very little between the two the only difference is City’s world class subs.
  3. Tottenham: they have reinforced midfield with the record signing of Ndombele from Lyon for a fee of £53.8m. Should be well clear of the other challengers after a strong campaign last season.
  4. Manchester Utd: fourth place is tough to call I think Manchester Utd are better than Chelsea and Arsenal at the moment. If they get Pogba motoring and a centre half in they have enough to get fourth.
  5. Chelsea: with new boss Frank Lampard Chelsea might find it hard to transition. Especially having lost Hazard. Without their main man they could struggle.
  6. Arsenal: Arsenal have not brought in any big name this summer. Martinelli looks a good signing for £6m but can he make an impact? Unfortunately, it looks to be the same old trouble at Arsenal their back line cannot be relied upon.
  7. West Ham: once again the Hammers have spent big £45m for Haller and £25m for Fornals. They seem to always pay big money for strikers that flop, but Haller from Eintracht Frankfurt is the real deal. These two talents will defiantly drive West Ham up the table.
  8. Everton: they finished in this position last season. I just cannot see the Blue side of Merseyside improving this season however, they are comfortable a top half team. Richarlison is a great player in attack he is one to watch.
  9. Wolves: Nuno Espírito Santo did an outstanding job last season getting his side to finish 7th with their first spell back in the Premier League. I just feel some of the other clubs will improve this season as opposed to Wolves dis-improving.
  10. Leicester: Ayoze Perez is a great signing he will be amongst the goals this season without a doubt. However, I feel if they lose Maguire, they won’t be able to replace him easily.
  11. Watford: played some great football last season just fell off at the end of the season. They should have another solid season without troubling the top or the bottom places.
  12. Bournemouth: Eddie Howe really gets the most out of this side. If they can keep Callum Wilson, they should have no problems. A comfortable mid-table side for me.
  13. Newcastle: Having lost Benítez they might struggle but I feel the signing of Joelinton will help them away from the bottom. Steve Bruce is an experienced man and I think they should survive.
  14. Crystal Palace: Wan-Bissaka will be a big loss to Palace however, with the £45m Place should be able to improve their squad. They must keep Zaha or I would worry for them.
  15. Burnley: interesting how the youthful Dwight McNeil will perform this season. There is not much quality of note in this squad. Although Sean Dyche has the experience to keep this side up. Just.
  16. Aston Villa: first season back in the Premier League in a while. They are spending the money I think they will have enough to beat the drop.
  17. Southampton: struggled last season have signed Danny Ings for a crazy amount. Could have used that money in better places in my opinion. I feel they will find it tough again this year.
  18. Brighton: sacking Chris Hughton was a mistake he really did a fantastic job to keep them up. He had them going in the right direction for a small club. Duffy and Dunk are great defenders. In offence I fear for them.
  19. Norwich: Automatic promotion from a dominant show topping the league in fantastic entertainment. I just feel that they might struggle against high quality Premier League opposition.
  20. Sheffield Utd: most definitely working to a minimum budget. Signed Callum Robinson from Preston he looks promising. Can these heroes from the championship keep Sheffield at the top table of English football?
